Mike sent the following story. He said, “Tom, for some reason, I thought you would like this one.” He was right.
“A man and his wife were lying in bed the other night when he noticed she had bought a new book entitled, “What 20 Million American Women Want.”
He grabbed the book out of her hands and started thumbing through the pages.
His wife was a little annoyed. “Hey, what do you think you’re doing?”
He calmly replied, “I just wanted to see if they spelled my name right.”
No intelligent man would check to see if his name was spelled correctly because any male with a brain knows he isn’t really that big a deal, no matter what his ego may say.
But there is one place where all our names are spelled correctly. It is the only place that really matters.
When you feel overwhelmed and completely helpless, God says these words of comfort and reassurance: “I have engraved you on the palms of my hands….” (Isaiah 49:16)
Always remember you are precious to God. You are part of God’s creation. Nothing can pull you out of God’s loving embrace. God will see you through the storms of life. All God asks is that you trust, put your hand in his, and let him walk you into eternity.
So, if the rest of the world says you don’t matter, know you matter to the One who does matter.
Prayer: Dear Gracious Heavenly God, thank you for loving me. Help me to always trust and believe in your goodness, grace, and guidance. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
Begin today knowing you matter to the One who created you. You are never alone.
I pray your day is filled with joy and laughter.
