Today, I will conduct a memorial service for a dear friend, go through a wedding rehearsal, and attend vacation bible school where the children are going to turn me into a living ice cream Sunday. It’s going to be a long, good day.
The memorial service will be good because I love this man, know his suffering is over, and know exactly where he’s going. It’s all good.
The wedding rehearsal will be good because I will help a beautiful young couple begin the next stage of their lives as a new family. It’s all good.
Vacation Bible school will be good because the children will never forget pouring ice cream and chocolate syrup all over their pastor. It will remind them that being a Christian is fun. It’s all good.
Now that I think about it, I have the greatest job in the world.
Sure, saying goodbye to my friend will be hard, the wedding rehearsal will be hectic, and I will be washing ice cream and chocolate syrup out of my hair for a long time. It’s all good.
Did you know life is good? Don’t get me wrong, life has its moments. Having said that, because we have a good God, life is good.
That’s why the psalmist sings, “This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.” (Psalm 118:23)
Today, you will have good moments and some that aren’t so good. Those bad moments don’t mean life isn’t good. It is.
So, praise God for this beautiful day and remember, it’s all good.
Prayer: Dear Gracious Heavenly God, in those moments when life is hard, remind me that you are good. This will help me remember life is good. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
Did I tell you I am going to be washing ice cream and chocolate syrup out of my hair for a long time? It’s all good.
I pray your day is filled with joy and laughter.
