Buzz sent the following joke. His sense of humor is as bad as mine. Prepare yourself.
After ten years, a mother took a good look at her daughter and started to think she didn’t look like part of the family. She did a DNA test and found out she and her husband were not their daughter’s biological parents. When she told her husband the disturbing news he said, “You don’t remember do you? When we were leaving the hospital the baby had a dirty diaper and you told me to change her. So I went inside, got a clean one and left the dirty one there.” The wife fainted.
Bad news has a way of catching us off guard. An unexpected bill, an unanticipated layoff, the bad decisions our children make, a sudden drop in the stock market, and speeding tickets are just the tip of the iceberg of how the negative side of life can take us by surprise.
So here’s some good news that will help you through the bad news cycles of life. Paul said, ” I can endure all these things through the power of the one who gives me strength.” (Philippians 4:13 CEB)
As you start this new workweek, just remember that no matter what news you get, God will walk you through it and bring you out the other side. You are never alone.
Prayer: Dear Gracious Heavenly God, help me to trust you in all the circumstances of my life. Embolden me to live my life for you. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
Bad news comes and goes. The good news of God’s love for you is permanent. That’s what really matters.
I pray your day is filled with joy and laughter.
