Yesterday I had to use the tractor to move three large round bales of hay for the cows and horses. This was not something I wanted to do because of the rain and the fact that whenever I get wet, I remember sugar melts.
So, after moving the haybales, drying off, and putting on fresh clothes, I sat on the back porch and watched the rain come pouring down.
As small streams of water started working their way across the pasture toward the tank, I realized there would be runoff that would add more water to my distressed, very low tanks. I couldn’t have been happier.
Did you know rain is one of the infinite ways God shows his presence and love?
This is what Paul and Barnabas meant by saying, “He has shown kindness by giving you rain from heaven and crops in their seasons; he provides you with plenty of food and fills your hearts with joy.” (Acts 14:17)
As you go through the business of another day, if you find yourself dealing with rain, don’t complain. Tell God thank you because without rain, we’d be in big trouble.
Prayer: Dear Gracious Heavenly God, thank you for the rain and other blessings of life. Help me to remember to be thankful for all you do. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
More rain is coming today, and while I will have to bundle up because sugar melts, I will still remember to give God thanks. I hope you do too.
I pray your day is filled with joy and laughter.
