Daily Devotional for July 29, 2021

I have finally found the solution to all of humanity’s problems.  In fact, as soon as I am through writing this devotional, I am going to say a prayer and tell God what I’ve figured out.  I know God will agree.  It all started the other day.

Melissa is our church office administrator.  She tells me what to say, what not to say, where to stand, where to sit, and when to breathe.  After all these years, the moment I hear Melissa’s voice, I do whatever she tells me to.  It’s just easier that way.

A few days ago, Melissa was in my office explaining something and Pete walked to the door.  Seeing I was in a conversation with Melissa, Pete turned to walk away.  Melissa saw Pete and said, “No. Come in here.  Sit.”

Pete, upon hearing Melissa’s voice, immediately did what he was told to do.  This got me thinking.

The moment Pete heard a woman’s voice tell him what to do, he didn’t question, object, or overthink it.  He did was he was told to do.  He realized it was just easier to do what the female voice told him to do.

At home, whenever I hear Shannon’s voice, I immediately do whatever her female voice tells me to do.  It’s just easier that way.

When I am in my truck and the female voice on the GPS tells me to turn, I immediately do whatever the female voice tells me to do.  I’ve learned it’s just easier that way.

Men do what female voices tell them to do.  We’ve learned it’s just easier that way.

I am convinced if God spoke to the entire world in a female voice, all the men would immediately stop sinning.  That’s because we always do what female voices tell us to do.  We’ve learned it’s just easier that way.

While this wouldn’t stop all the women from sinning, at least half of the world’s population would be doing God’s will.  For the first time in the history of the world, the men would be behaving.  It all depends upon hearing God voice the right way.

The good news is if we hear God’s message and follow God’s guidance, life is just easier.  That’s what the writer of Hebrews meant by saying, “Therefore we must pay greater attention to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away from it.”  (Hebrews 2:1)

God is always speaking.  We need to do what God’s voice tell us to do.  It’s just easier that way.

Prayer:  Dear Gracious Heavenly God, let me hear you speak.  Give me the strength, resolve, and wisdom to follow your path.  In Jesus’ name I pray.  Amen.

When I get to heaven, I am certain I will hear God’s voice.  I am also certain it will be a female’s voice.

I will do whatever God’s voice tells me to do.  It’s just easier that way.

I pray your day is filled with joy and laughter.
