Gary is one of the faithful members of our church. I have not seen Gary since COVID-19 upended the world.
Gary sent Melissa an email about church business. She forwarded a portion of the conversation to me.
In response to Gary’s original email, Melissa answered his questions and concluded by saying, “Hope you are well! Can’t wait to see you in person one day!!”
Gary responded, “I will do my Tom Robbins impersonation…”Well get ready because I am even better looking than you remember.”
But if I am accurately remembering what Gary looks like, I don’t think that would be too hard.
If I remember correctly, Gary is very tall, has a long ponytail, wears a ring in his nose, and has a cute butterfly tattoo on his hand. But I could be wrong. It’s been a long time. I may have forgotten.
Did you know that God has never forgotten you? That’s because you are precious in his eyes.
God says, “I have written your name on the palms of my hands.” (Isaiah 49:16a)
I hope you are at a good place in life but know that if the world seems dark and you are wondering if God has forgotten you, he hasn’t. You matter too much.
So, live your life knowing the Maker of the Universe is with you.
Prayer: Dear Gracious Heavenly God, thank you for loving me. Thank you for always being with me. Please guide my steps, thoughts, words, and actions. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
You will never walk life’s dark paths alone. You are not forgotten.
On another note, now that I’ve had a few moments to think about it, I remember what Gary looks like. He is just as good looking as I am.
In the immortal words of Will Rogers: “It ain’t bragging if it’s true.”
I pray your day is filled with joy and laughter.
