Actors Dax Shepard and Kristen Bell have it all.  Fame, wealth, a good marriage, two healthy children, thriving careers on both the big and small screens, and a very popular podcast, have made them the envy of many.  It looks like they have everything.  But never think someone’s life is perfect.  That is never the case.

How could a couple that has everything ever experience true heartache and suffering?

Sadly, after 16 years sobriety, Dax has relapsed.  In an interview, Kristen said, “Everybody is up against their own demons.  Sometimes it’s anxiety and depression.  Sometimes it’s substance abuse.”

The bottom line is that every life experiences joy and pain.  And no matter who you are, what you have, or how intelligent you are, it is impossible to get through this life without scars.  It’s the human condition.

So never make the mistake of coveting someone else’s life.  You never know what is beneath the surface or goes on behind closed doors.  That’s because, at times, even though others may not see it, everyone hurts.

The answer to true healing and peace in the midst of a life that is filled with chaos and controversy, is to rely on the only One who sets everything straight.  This is what Jesus meant by saying, “I am the way and the truth and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through me.”  (John 14:6)

I hope you are in a wonderful place in life.  But if you aren’t, turn to the only One who can give you true peace in the midst of the storms of life.  Put your hand in God’s hand and let God lead  you through eternity.

But know that trusting God doesn’t mean that you won’t face hard times.  You will.   But when the hard times come, you will receive the guidance, strength, and the wisdom needed to weather the storm.

Prayer:  Dear Gracious Heavenly God, please open my eyes and help me understand that life is hard for everyone.  Use me to bring peace, joy, healing, and laughter to those in pain.  In Jesus’ name I pray.  Amen.

Today is a great day to turn you life over to Jesus.  If you do, you won’t regret it.  I promise.

I pray your day is filled with joy and laughter.
