Last Sunday was our first Sunday for in-house worship. It was wonderful.
The choir from the University of Mary-Harden Baylor was incredible. Our volunteers and worship team did their usual magnificent job. And of course, the sermon was so good that I am certain the angels in heaven were crying.
After worship ended, Amy introduced me to a very nice young couple that wanted to join the church.
As we visited, knowing my magnificent sermon had to be the reason they joined, I said, “You joined because of the sermon, right?” Michael responded, “It was the choir.”
Yep, Michael and Allison are going to fit right in.
I hope you find a reason to laugh today. I believe it truly matters.
Yes, not every moment is filled with joy and levity but being a follower of Jesus means we have more reason to laugh and celebrate than anyone else on the planet.
So today, knowing you are saved, don’t take every moment so seriously that you don’t experience this wonderful world the way God intended. Laugh, love, forgive, and help others. Find a reason to celebrate.
The wisest of all people said, “A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.” (Proverbs 17:22)
Prayer: Dear Gracious Heavenly God, help me a person of joy. Help me bring joy to others. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
Bring a smile to someone and be blessed.
Just for the record, I noticed Amy laughed at Michael’s response. I’m going to have to talk to her about that.
Today, remember Solomon’s advice and take your medicine. You’ll be glad you did.
I pray your day is filled with joy and laughter.
