This is my Goldilocks time of year. It’s not too hot. It’s not too cold. It’s just right.
I really do love this time of year because it is a wonderful reprieve from the fiery furnace days of August. Sadly, it won’t last forever.
In a few months, I will be whining and complaining about freezing to death. But until then, I’m going to enjoy every moment.
The good news is after I spend some time feeling like a Popsicle, warm weather will return. This is the other Goldilocks time of year.
Much like the seasons of weather, our lives also have seasons.
There are times when life is not too hot, not too cold, it’s just right.
Seeing my grandchildren, sitting on the back porch with Shannon, hearing my daughter’s voices, watching newborn calves run through the pasture, and our sanctuary filled with people are just a few of my “it’s just right” moments. Sadly, they don’t last forever.
A daughter calls to tell me she is being tested for COVID-19, I conduct a funeral for someone I love, I miss hugging grandchildren, and for months I have worshipped with our congregation online in a sanctuary filled with empty pews.
The good news is that these uncomfortable trying times will end. They always do.
I truly hope you are experiencing a just right moment. But if you are in a hard place, know that you have a God who is bringing a new season to your life. The bad moments don’t last forever. That’s why the wisest of all people said: “For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven.” (Ecclesiastes 3:1)
Always remember, no matter what you are currently experiencing, God has your very best interest at heart. He loves you too much to leave you in the hard places of life. God will bring you back to a just right moment. That’s a good thing.
Prayer: Dear Gracious Heavenly God, in those moments when my life is hard, remind me the world keeps turning. Give me hope, joy, and the security that comes from knowing your Son has saved me. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
Life has changing seasons but our God always remains the same. Thank God.
I pray your day is filled with joy and laughter.
