In instructing new Christians on how to live, the writer of Hebrews said:  “And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.”  (Hebrews 10:24-25)

But how do we responsibly meet together when it is clear that COVID-19 is often spread when churches gather?  We have found our answer.  It is Parking Lot Worship.

I am pumped to remind you that this Sunday at 8:30, we will have an early morning worship service in the parking lot that faces the sanctuary.

Some will sit in lawn chairs in the beds of trucks while others sit either in or in front of their cars, but no matter what, we will finally be gathering together in as safe an environment as we can provide.

I am especially excited about the social distanced children’s time, where I get to talk to the children and then at the end, they will take two Tootsie Rolls back to their family to share God’s love.

Then, as usual, the contemporary service will broadcast at 9:45 and the livestream traditional service will happen at 11:00.

This Sunday, come to church.  Bring your coffee, donuts, and make sure your radio works so that you can be part of God’s gathering.  It is going to be a great day and I hope that you will be a part of it.

Prayer:  Dear Gracious Heavenly God, please bless our efforts to find new ways to worship as your faith family.  Be with us as we gather in the parking lot to celebrate your love and faithfulness.  In Jesus’ name I pray.  Amen.

The only downside I see to this coming Sunday is that some of the staff is pushing me to wear shorts.  These legs were not meant to see the sun – ever.

I pray your day is filled with joy and laughter.
